I want to live/Chcę żyć

From the beginning of my teacher’s career I understood that it wasn’t about schooling my pupils. It was about survive with them. I had to learn some methods how to survive 45 minutes with the boys. Because they wouldn’t read the books, I used to copy a fragment on the cards and give it to them.

Usually after 10 minutes of reading they were not interested anymore. Only ONCE the fragment really attracted their attention. It was the episode of “Crime and Punishment” (when Raskolnikov murders Alyona Ivanovna). After the lesson, I looked back at the fragment and decided to write a short story based on the episode.

I had no computer at the moment; I wrote it in the Internet Caffe. There was a boy next to me: he watched sexy pictures and speeded to the toilet every now and then:) It took me a couple of days to finish the story of young homosexual, who is paid to kill one of his clients: I want to live.

Od początku mojej kariery nauczycielskiej zrozumiałam, że nie chodzi o to, by uczniów czegoś nauczyć. Chodziło o to, żeby z nimi przetrwać. Musiałam nauczyć się metod jak przeżyć 45 minut z chłopakami. Ponieważ nie czytali książek, przepisywałam fragmenty na kartkach i dawałam im je.

Zazwyczaj po 10 minutach nie byli już zainteresowani. Tylko RAZ fragment naprawdę ich zaciekawił. Był to epizod ze „Zbrodni i kary” (kiedy to Raskolnikow zabija Aljonę Iwanowną). Po lekcji przeczytałam ponownie ten fragment i zdecydowałam, że napiszę na jego podstawie opowiadanie.

Nie miałam wówczas komputera; pisałam w kafejce internetowej. Obok siedział chłopak: oglądał seksowne zdjęcia i co chwilę wybiegał do ubikacji:) Zajęło mi kilka dni ukończenie historii o młodym homoseksualiście, któremu zapłacono za zabicie klienta: Chcę żyć.
